About Me

My journey as a designer started when I was a kid. Using a computer for gaming built a thought process around user experience and interactivity that ultimately led me to want to create experiences. From the very first days, I have had a relationship with a computer that later turned into a permanent affair. As computers have progressed, so has my desire to stay toe-to-toe with the latest trends and technology in human-computer Interaction and product/experience design.

WHO I AM

A passionate explorer  — chasing creativity through art, music and discovery

I like to travel, trek through valleys and hills, and go on adventurous excursions. Growing up, I pursued sports and academics simultaneously. I am an avid cricket and soccer fan and was part of a cricketing club and my high school soccer team. Music has been my passion across all genres. I was part of musical groups throughout high school and higher education as a guitarist. My genre of choice was Rock, with subgenres like Grunge, Electronic & Progressive.  I like to play around with scale and always preferred tab pickings over strumming chords; something about the individual notes appealed to me.  Jimmy Page and David Gilmore inspired the musician in me as a teen and Some of my favorite bands are Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. The influence of Jim Morrison as a poet and as a frontman instilled a sense of versification that I carry to this day. Furthermore, poetry has been a channel for catharsis to me. Classics like Edgar Alan Poe's 'The Raven' was my introduction to the Gothic landscape. Other works like Homer's 'The Odyssey', Robert Frost's, 'The Road Not Taken' and Wilfred Owen's 'Dulce et Decorum Est' are some of my favorites as they address themes of human suffering. I like to explore understudied topics. Aldous Huxley's 'The Doors of Perception' was my first step into philosophical writing. I love reading Philosophy and indulging in deep meditative thoughts, often supplementing them with music across various genres. With an astute fitness regime, I meditate for a healthy mind, and workout to keep my body in sync.

WHERE I'M FROM

Calcutta, the beginning of my Creative Journey

I was born and raised in the city of Kolkata, the capital of British India (Calcutta). My ethnic origin is from Punjab, a northern state known for its agricultural wealth. This colonial legacy of Kolkata is evident in its grand architecture, such as the Victoria Memorial, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Writers’ Building. It was a cradle for modern Indian Literature and Art. Kolkata's multicultural ethos, shaped by its historical communities contributes to its unique charm. Its blend of colonial heritage, intellectual vigor, and traditional vibrancy continues to make it a city of unparalleled cultural depth. I have explored regions in India as a traveler. I have traveled India across Agra, Rishikesh, Kasol, Dehradun, Mussoorie, Digha, Goa and remote villages of Himachal Pradesh like Kalga, Pulga and Tosh. I wish to continue traveling and unraveling India's never-ending landscape!

I received primary and high school education at a Christian Brothers' school called St. Joseph's College, founded by Edmund Rice of Ireland.  The school is nestled in the heart of central Kolkata and was founded in 1848. Having studied as a student for a period of 13 years right since kindergarten, it has been my second home. I pursued higher education at another catholic institute in the same city — St. Xavier's College. It was founded by Jesuit priests in 1860 and named after St. Francis Xavier, who traveled to India in the 16th century. Having stayed in Calcutta all my life, I was well-oriented with its historical depth. I also worked at a fashion startup while pursuing my Master's Degree. After graduation, I decided it was time to explore another cultural powerhouse in India — Hyderabad.

The "City of Pearls" has a lot in store. Renowned for its architectural grandeur, including landmarks like the Charminar, Golconda Fort, and Chowmahalla Palace. The city's cosmopolitan culture reflects a blend of Hindu, Muslim, and Persian traditions, creating a unique Indo-Islamic character. After graduating in 2020, I was employed by Deloitte as a

Work-from-home hire due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I eventually moved to Hyderabad as things eased out and currently work at Deloitte's head office in India. Hyderabad is my current city of residence and my home.

WHAT
I VALUE

Curious at mind, driven by experiences

If there is one thing I truly value, it's experiences. As an adventurous and curious personality, I naturally like to venture into new areas of human experience. These experiences can come in any form and shape. From the beauty of natural landscapes to ethnic cultures, experiencing and exploring perspectives, geographies, languages, and rituals is what I value. I am concerned with the very nature of experiences — the roots that lie in passion, beliefs,  interests, values, virtues, ethics, and more broadly what one experiences and how.  I humbly believe that all of life is the sum of experiences one lives through. As a follower of Western and Greek Philosophy, I believe it is ethics, virtues, and integrity that makes us truly civilized as a species. For me, conscience and consciousness go hand in hand and I am governed by these noble pursuits as a skeptic and an analytical critique of all things in question. Thanks to my naturally curious nature, I don't often find myself limited by a stringent comfort zone. It allows my personality to be flexible, I find myself on new escapades now and then.
